bitcoin addresses

A long string of characters generated by a wallet that represents a deposit address to receive bitcoin. A bitcoin address can be shared and it won’t jeopardize your bitcoin. However, anyone can look up a bitcoin address and watch any incoming or outgoing transactions.

Each bitcoin address has a paired private key. A private key grants a wallet access to the bitcoin available at the paired bitcoin address.
